Full description
Start your experience with a hotel pick-up in Hoi An, where our team will give a safety briefing before we begin the journey. Ride your own electric scooter or relax with a professional driver as we quietly cross the old iron bridge, leaving the busy tourist streets behind and entering the peaceful island life of Cam Kim.
This is not a rushed sightseeing tour. It’s a chance to truly connect with local life. Along the way, we stop at rice fields, chili farms, corn fields, and quiet countryside roads where water buffalo still wander freely. These landscapes are not only beautiful, they are the roots of Hoi An’s cuisine and culture.
As we travel deeper into the villages, you’ll discover traditional crafts that families have preserved for generations. Visit Kim Bong Carpentry Village, once famous for building wooden boats and houses that shaped Hoi An’s ancient trading port. Meet local artisans and watch the delicate art of mother-of-pearl inlay craftsmanship by hand.
Continue to another riverside village where locals grow sedge grass and weave traditional sleeping mats. Sit with a local family, try weaving the mats yourself, and learn every step of the process, from harvesting the grass to creating something used in daily life for generations.
We also visit a local fishing village to learn about traditional river fishing using “Rớ” — a unique bamboo fishing system still used today. End the journey at the Whale Temple, where fishermen worship the whale as the sacred “God Fish,” protector of those who live by the sea.
Rice has supported Vietnamese civilization for over 4,000 years, and on this tour, you’ll see how deeply it connects to local life. Discover how rice wine is made, how nothing goes to waste, and how fresh rice is turned into handmade noodles. Then enjoy a bowl of authentic My Quang, one of Central Vietnam’s most beloved dishes.
After around four relaxing hours, we return you to your hotel with a deeper understanding of Hoi An beyond the ancient town.
